Halloween is always our favourite time of the year. What’s not to love, good costumes, great parties, and free sweets. But finding that perfect outfit can at times be difficult, particularly if you have left things until the last-minute. Never fear, IWOOT is back again with some handy tips and tricks to make your last-minute Halloween costume stand out.

Humour is your friend, people love a good giggle and will look over last-minute planning if your concept makes them smile. This ‘Gift from God’ idea is so easy to reproduce. Make holes in a cardboard box then wrap in your favourite paper, a label is a must if people are to get the joke, but a ribbon is an optional extra.

If you really are short on time, a set of purple balloons will really help you out. Blow the balloons up and tie to a piece of string. Wrap the string around your body and finish with a green bow or hat on your head. Voila.

Wear all your clothes at once for this great ‘Tacky Tourist’ last-minute costume idea. Remember a bum bag is a must for this look.

An old classic, the ‘Cereal Killer’ costume is sure to raise a few groans but will definitely be worth it for the tonnes of laughter that it will get. If you are going out, though, it may be a good idea to take a plastic knife as opposed to a real one.

A floral crown and a few strokes of eyeliner and hey presto, you’re Frida Kahlo.

Stay on trend with a cute Snapchat filter look. Use different coloured face paints to become the rainbow filter or tinsel around your head and illuminating face powder for the crown/butterfly filter.
