Stylophone review

The Stylophone is exactly as I remember it as a small child in the 1970s. Many hours spent on Christmas Day playing, 'can you guess what it is yet?'

Music for the Masses

I had never been a keen musician, but this beautiful old toy from the '70s took me back. With an elegantly monotone sound, the Stylophone will keep you entertained in nostalgia for hours. With 3 instruments and even a 'Vibrato' option, the Stylophone goes one step further with headphone and MP3 connections, so you can play along with all your favorite tunes. The volume can be very loud, so you can show off your riffs to all your friends. The tuning stick on the underside allows for further tweaking. The battery also lasts for a very long time, meaning more play time! There are a few disadvantages. Firstly, the volume cannot be easily adjusted, as it is either very loud or very quiet. Secondly, there is no option to connect the Stylophone to a computer audio in to record music. Lastly, the general feel of the product is quite tacky compared to the original. The stickers keep peeling off, the metal grid has been replaced with plastic and the sound just isn't what it used to be, otherwise I would love it. The stylophone is a good, cheap buy for anyone who loves music or the '70s.

AMAZING! Hours of possibility okay more than one word but that's because it has more than one possibility!

Stylophone

Ahh this took me back and it was better than I'd remembered... I've had a queue of people (all from the 60s and 70s) in my office lining up to have a go and do their best Rolf Harris Impersonations....great fun.

bought this as a 4oth birthday gift for my brother who is well into retro toys. He was thrilled to bits and said" Ive always wanted one of those". The present arrived right on time and nicely packaged. I would recommend this site to anyone stuck for a unusual gift idea

Blazingly Technologic!!!!

This electro-pulsing piece of nostalgic kit is an intense flashback to those good old days of non-stop synthesising. An essential instrument for those prone to reminiscing and for those of a thoroughly modern mind what with it's decent quality MP3 playing capabilities, the Stylophone is a piece of enjoyably metallic genius.

Not what I was expecting.

Remembering the Stylophone from years ago I just had to have one but it is not the same as I remember. The stylus didn't work too well and it was laid to rest without really being played. However, I will give it another go.
