How did i live for so long without this???

Since its release, the Sphero has been a fascination of mine. Cool to watch the videos and read up on it but I could never really justify buying one. Then i watch The Force Awakens and fell in love with BB8. The Sphero version of BB8 is the best out of the current line up of licensed toys. The device is well made and feels sturdy. The app worked first time and in minutes, BB8 was chirping, beeping and wandering around the room. The magnet that holds the head in place is strong enough to withstand rough terrain but i wouldnt reommend sending him down any stairs. The sounds come from the app rather than the sphero itself and i understand the reasoning behind omitting a speaker in sphero itself. The battery life is good. I got an hour per charge. While on the dock, BB8 occasionally looks around, adding to the experience. All in all, its 130 quid but worth every penny. No buyers remorse for me. Id buy him again.

Hours of fun

Although I bought this as a gift, it provided the recipient with a way of escaping the dull tedium that is Christmas at home with the parents!

I bought this for my girl friend who loves it. As i work shifts and she doesn't i get to play too and its really good. Very manoeuvrable and interactive. Would recommend it to anyone but watch out for the aerials at the top as they could be easily snapped if not picked up correctly

BB-8 great for gadget lovers

Bought BB-8 for my son who is a big fan of Star Wars. It was well packaged, but still easy enough to open, its quite small, seems to be very well built and easy to set up, son linked it to his ipod touch, it comes with instructions which really tells you all you need to know, but I went on internet to see what it does before buying it. I can see my son and his uni mates having great fun with this but it is suitable for any age really as his younger siblings were desperate to play with it also.

This comes very well packaged - I really liked the box! The BB8 is a lot smaller than I realised, it is about the size of an orange. It is easy to control via the I phone and each day reveals more and more things that he can be programmed to do. He updates regularly with the intention that with each film release he will update and change. The holograms and sounds play through the phone with the actual droid being silent, which is a shame. I am sure that we will discover more features as time goes on.

Completely dead!

1

A much anticipated adventure from two Star Wars struck kids on xmas day was completely ruined by the fact that once plugged in with a good USB cable the base is completely dead - no blue lights, absolutely nothing. I'm glad I only got this for half price but still upset that such an expensive gift/toy is DOA. It's a cheap, flimsy bit of plastic tat that has jumped on the Star Wars franchise bonanza.
