Wake up alarm? More like a soothing sleep noise!

The clock is cute and easy to use. The light works well and the clock part is bright. HOWEVER - the 'explosion' sound it makes for the alarm is really quiet and you can't turn it up. My son, who this is for, is hard of hearing so he's got no chance of it waking him, but it wouldn't wake me either. The sound is actually quite soothing. I'd recommend this as a clock and nightlight, but its a terrible alarm clock. As well as being a volume button, it could do with having the option to take batteries instead of just USB power, too, for people who want it by their bed not their computer.
