Terrible quality with design flaws

Initially, I was quite pleased with this. It's a decent size and, although it's light, it feels quite sturdy. However, we soon realised the claw wasn't opening. A bit of jiggling and it worked so I thought all was good. Then it stopped moving forwards and backwards. I had a quick peek through the top opening and realised it has switches that stop it moving when it gets to the front/back, so I jiggled those and it started working again. Sticky switches aren't the end of the world, I thought. My daughters had a fun few hours playing with it, then forwards/backwards stopped working again, soon followed by the up/down. Tried jiggling the switch for forwards/backwards and that didn't work, plus there isn't one I could see for up/down. I ended up taking off the lid and could see the problem straight away. Where the wiring enters the moving parts, there is a point where the wiring has to bend as the machine moves. Where the wiring was soldered on is very close to that point and two of the wires had broken off. I confirmed that this was the issue by holding the wiring in the correct places and it worked again. Unfortunately, I don't have a soldering iron to fix it (nor should I have to) and I suspect that even with a fix, it would soon break again - it's just really poor design. I don't recommend this unless you're happy to pay this amount for a couple of hours of use. I don't even think it's worth a tenner really. It's such a shame as the idea and size are great and while it worked it was great fun, it's just the implementation that is terrible.

Thought I'd leave a review because all the bad ones almost stopped me buying! Don't know if people got faulty ones or something but it's works great 7 year old lives it, we filled it with Thomas minis blind bags (rolled and taped so they'd fit the prize shoot) and the claw was able to pick them up and carry them no problem. Use decent batteries and don't over fill it and you shouldn't have any issues

Amazing little machine

Bought as a gift for my little ones (3+5 years old) Filled with SMALL SWEETS AND TOY. Keeps them quite for ages. Claw will not pick up heavy items such as kinder eggs or packets of Haribo. Smaller chocolates such as those from a box of celebrations are a better size and weight. Comes with the little coins needed to play but you'll need to get D batteries x3. Very happy with my purchase.

The other low star reviews you've read are from real customers. The ones that rave about this or giving 5 stars are clearly talking about something entirely different. Yes, its sturdy. Thats the only positive thing about the machine. The Claw does not work. Does not work! Absolute rubbish. Major disappointment this christmas. Avoid buying this tat.

Great buy

Got this for the kids for christmas. Had to try them out before juat to make sure. Well two hours later and I am still playing

I purchased this for my little boys birthday in 11/17. I was so excited to give it him as it is something he had wanted for ages. After reading some great reviews I went ahead and purchased it, I am now unsure if these reviews are by real customers that have actually purchased one. The chain that the grabber hangs off is such poor quality, it does not give enough weight for the grabber to hang off. I half filled the machine with small sweets and chocolates I'd bought but the grabber struggled to even pick up a lollipop. In the end we all go so fed up of trying to use it we had to tip the machine up to get the sweets to drop into the hole that the grabber is meant to drop the sweets into. The actual machine it's self is very sturdy and great quality, looking at it looks fab but to actutally use it is pointless. Waste of money and if anything an actual con to call it a Candy grabber as it is pointless. One very disappointed little boy and upset parent for wasting my money on this. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Bought it for my son on his Birthday he absolutely loved it. Don't put in too much candy or claw doesn't work make sure the candy is well in the size of the deposit area as can get stuck halfway through
