'Wizard' Wand

Even at a grand old age of 40+ this gift brings excitement and fun. It is techy, in the fact that you have to train it but that makes it seem more valuable once it's up and running. Great product and not just a gimmick!

Fantastic Talking Piece

5

The The Magic Wand TV Remote Control is a very good piece of kit. Very flash, especially if you say Latin phrases and pretend they are spells when you operate it! The wand itself is nice, could be better if made out of resin rather than plastic, but visually nice and the presentation box makes it look like you got it from Ollivander's shop. The wand holds 15 commands that can be programmed from existing controllers. You can combine all of your common commands from your multiple remotes into a single wand that sits on your coffee table. I have programmed mine to operate the volume on my speakers, the amplifier, turn on the TV, flip through the sky menu, select pause and fast forward on the box. Still need the other controllers for more advanced functions like programming recordings etc. Programming is easy, but give yourself an hour or so to get the hang of it and figure out which buttons you want to associate with a wand gesture. I ended up writing them all down before I started programming to make sure I had all the ones I wanted. Only disappointment is that the coolest of the wand gestures - the "swish and flick" is impossible to do. The others all work consistently with only slight practice, but that one just wont co-operate.

The wand remote is a very good idea, Its a great laugh to play around with and can be an ideal present for anyone. I got this wand and I love playing around with it, it turns the tv over when the other half isnt watching and he hasnt got a clue...lol he thinks the tv has issues... great fun for a joke or prank on others who dont know about this wand...I would recommend to everyone.

It was on Dragons Den

1

Duncan Bannatyne made an investment of £200k in this gadget, the largest offer made by a dragon in 57 episodes. It's a great gadget but I detest Bannatyne so for this (very justifiable) reason alone it gets just one star from me.

COOL!!!

The wand works PERFECTLY!!! It will be a good present for 'techno genius' Harry Potter. I think that they should make one for computers with more complicated commands.' If i wanted to buy something, IWOOT would be my first choice!

The Wand TV Remote Control

Was given this as a birthday gift, can't say I was that impressed with it. It does work but when I realised how much it cost it's definitely not worth £50. Looks cool but it's probably one of those things that will sit around not being used.. Good idea for kids who love Harry Potter though.

BT Vision

2

Don't buy this if you want to control your BT Vision box with it. It does not transmit the required frequencies.
