Take a break in London for an afternoon tea with an Austrian twist. Enjoy a selection of sandwiches paired with an ever-changing selection of cakes, pastries and slices (which are all made fresh on the premises) that could be straight from the bakeries of Vienna with this Viennese Afternoon Tea for Two at The Delaunay, Covent Garden.
Transporting a central European atmosphere to the eclectic Covent Garden, the Delaunay is yet another excellent brainchild from the famed restaurateurs Christopher Corbin and Jeremy King (the duo behind The Wolseley). Popular amongst the famous and the regular alike, there are plenty of delicious treats to be found there, and youll get to sample an array of the sweetest morsels with an afternoon tea filled with Viennese delights.
Following the assorted open sandwiches you might find bites like lemon and pistachio mille-feuille or coffee and Stroh rum cake, and if youd prefer you can swap out scones with cream and jam for poppy seed Gugelhupfs with apricot jam and whipped cream for the full Vienna flavour. Add your choice of tea (The Delaunay blend is a firm favourite) or coffee and you’ve got a proper Brit-European treat, the perfect refuelling break for a London day out.
What happens on the day?
On arrival at The Delaunay youll be warmly welcomed at reception before being shown through to your pre-booked table.
