The Telly Terminator doesn't actually work, I have bought three and each one hasn't worked. I have had great things from IWOOT before but these are no good!

This Telly Terminator is a great little gadget that works on pretty much any TV. I would recommend this as it can be very amusing and funny turning people's TVs off without them knowing.

fun, fun, fun

This Telly Terminator is unbelievable! It's the best gadget I've bought so far and I've used it almost everywhere. At the coffee shop, at the bar, the mall, a friend's house, school, karaoke event. Be careful though not to get caught, I feel like a god! It only works with flat screen TVs but who uses the old TV types anyway. I recently discovered that it's not only a telly terminator but also a telly activator! It can switch off and on any flat-screen TV. Well, that is awesome. You'll definitely want one of those!

Great for Videogame widows...

I bought the Telly Terminator as a present for my friend whose other half is married to his Xbox. Now whenever she wants to get his attention she can discreetly turn the TV off and interrupt his killing aliens/driving into walls etc without any blame being laid! Might work out more expensive in the long run though as he's planning to buy a bigger, more expensive TV that doesn't 'turn itself off' all the time...

Awesome

After getting this Telly Terminator I wanted to make sure I hadn't been ripped off. Turns off virtually 'any television' eh? We'll see about that, I thought. So I walked into an Argos store and strolled over to the huge bank of TVs...Sony, Samsung, Phillips, LG, Toshiba... The perfect place to see if this thing would work. I fiddled with the Telly Terminate, contemplating the havoc I was about to cause. Should I or shouldn't I? Of course I should. I clicked the button and one by one all the TVs turned off. It was truly awesome. For the constant fun and games you will have, it's well worth the money!

The Telly Terminator is fantastic and it's so funny switching of people's TVs. God knows what you could do at a pub, not that I'm encouraging you to do that. I personally thought it wouldn't work, but by jove it does, and it's so funny.

I bought this as a present for my father-in-law, who loves it! I'm just hoping he doesn't get caught!

Works pretty well. I have tested it on different TV's. For example on some Sony TV's, it works from very short distance.. about 50cm or so, but on some Samsung models, it works from pretty long distance and I had a lot of fun with it.

According to the article, this device can "Teminate virtually any television!". I think that should say "Terminate virtually any new television made by a major manufacturer". It doesn't work on my nice, cheap Wharfdale, doesn't work on the old LG that's in the bar at the hotel I work at, but does work on the 2 year old LG in my living room. So I'm going to guess that any newer Sonys, Panasonics & Samsungs will fall victim. When it does work, the range seems to be about 2 1/2 to 3 metres, and it works better from directly in front of the TV. The LED light is, however, very reliable, and perfect for someone who works nights to find the keyhole of a door rather than turning a main light on and waking up half the house.
