Very good for the boy in your boyfriend!
4Bought this for my boyfriend who is obsessed with being the one in control of fires/barbeques etc and he loved it. Although he's now insistent we go camping to put it to good use!

5brilliant gadget, bought it for lighting bonfires on allotment, but also for barbecues and camping stoves, lights first time, good tip~ use the fluff from the tumble dryer as tinder, it glows and smoulders for a long while to get the fire going.

5I wasn't sure about the Firesteel at first, but when I tried it for the first time it sent a spark across my lounge like lightening. Its absolutely amazing!!!

Sparks but no fire
2We managed to get it sparking, which was pretty cool, but we couldn't actually create fire, despite trying paper and dry twigs.

5This is BRILLIANT... it has turned my gentle giant of a man into an arsonist version of Ray Mears. He has shown it off to anybody that breathes.. and has used it so much in this last week, that I think I will be ordering a new one soon (even though it does have 12000 strikes) :o)

Not that good
1This device is supposed to make lighting fires and barbecues easily but it has not been my experience. You scrape a piece of metal down the metal shaft of the device and it produces an impressive spark. However I have tried to light various types of paper with it but no luck. I think you need to use something like shredded paper, cotton wool or wood shavings but do you necessarily have these to hand when you want to create a fire?

Amazingly Useful
5I have to say I'm very happy with this - come any weather (including soaked through to the skin), a decent spark is produced allowing lighting of the gas burner - whereas the matches were a soggy mees. Well reccomended!!
