The moment that the leaves start to go brown you know winter's on its way and skating (not the graceful kind) is fast approaching. Whether on wet leaves, icy pavements, slippery mud or some good old snow, our everyday shoes are not up to the job of saving us from graceless windmilling arms and acrobatic tumbles. Now we don't want to spend the winter in hardcore hiking boots (and even those have their limitations when it comes to ice) so what to do? Well some bright spark in the USA has come up with not only a brilliant and simple solution, but a highly portable one. Grippers are a simple silicone sling with super tough metal teeth that slip over almost any shoe, from the dainty to the heavy duty, and give you a grip that you wouldn't believe. They slip on and off very easily, and when you're not wearing them pack into a tidy and small little case that will fit into your pocket, bag, or if you're very organised, the glove box of your car. Now you can walk sure-footed whatever the weather, but do remember to take them off when you come inside or you'll shred the carpet.

I bought these for myself and my mum & they did exactly what they said they would!! My mum has managed to walk confidently on the snow and ice without the worry of slipping/falling and hurting herself. I'm really gutted that they are no longer in stock as I've recommended them to so many people who are now unable to buy them! Please bring them back!!
Couldn't have managed without these with the snow we've had recently.I actually have a broken leg & need 2 crutches but with the Grippers I could get out for wee walks with my dogs leaving my husband slipping & sliding all over the place!Should be given away by hospitals to enable patients to walk in bad conditions!!!My husband & several of my friends want them so please, please re-stock them.
I hope you will get hold of the Foot Claw again as I have lots of friends I have recommended them to and they cannot get hold of them now that you have discontinued your association with Foot Claw. I bought mine from you in February 2009 when we had bad weather and it is definitely the best purchase I have made. I would not be able to walk in the snow and ice without them to get into the City to work. Please order more.
Best Spent Tenner Last Year
I live up a hill. Not a terribly steep hill. An suburban hill. The sort of suburban hill that the council does not see fit to grit as a priority in snowy, icy weather. My car remains stuck at the top of the hill for days and I would have been too,had it not been for the Footclaw. Able to veritably skip downhill and up again across changing ice, snow, re-frozen snow & slush without fear of slipping or falling over. Hoorah, Hoorah. Strangers & Friends covet them and I smugly evangelise. A simple, effective & brilliant idea.
best purchase so far
brill item but pity discontinued as would of love to got more. fantastic item colin n.ireland
the ice grippers were perfect. the packaging could have been a third of the size and cut down on postage costs, good service otherwise
Grippers for shoes are realistic purchase
The Grippers look sturdy, but the packaging was quite damaged and it is not such a funky present as it seems on the site.
one of the best purchases i've ever made, i walk a lot in all weathers and the grippers have given me the confidence and the ability to walk in snow and ice conditions with no fear of falling, highly recommended.
I cant believe you dont do these any more
I got a pair for a friend for Christmas and they are awsome. Everybody wants some (including me) You should certainly bring them back considering weather at the min
Feel safe, walk tall
Fantastic - a must have. Feel extremely safe and secure walking on ice while wearing them. Haven't slipped once and living near the Thames in an open landscape area it gets very treacherous under foot but I can rely on these 100%. I have recommended them to everyone I know and wanted to buy a pair for my uncle who is in his late 60s and has had two hip replacements so I was very disappointed to discover they have been discontinued by IWOOT. Please bring them back asap. I can't find them anywhere else.
