The perfect experience for everyone from complete beginners to those wanting to get back into this time-honoured tradition. Set in a stunning West Yorkshire weaving mill, your expert hosts will help you find your way around a sewing machine, along with plenty of tricks of the trade to create your fabulous apron.
Masterpiece finished, you and your fellow guests can sit back and relax with a delicious, well-earned afternoon tea. You’ll leave with your handmade creation and a newfound or rekindled love of sewing.
What happens on the day?
On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your hosts for the day and get settled in for your experience.
You’ll set about making your own vintage style apron from scratch. Your small, intimate session accommodates plenty of individual attention throughout, meaning you can get the most out of your experience.
Apron created, you’ll relax with an afternoon tea.
Minimum age: 14 (under 18s must be accompanied by a paying adult)
There is a disabled toilet, ramp access, and the premises are on the ground floor

The experience is available on selected Thursdays from 10.00 to 13.00 and selected weekends from 10.00 to 13.00 or 14.00 to 17.00. The experience is available all year.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please arrive 15 minutes in advance, and allow 3 hours for the full experience.
What should I wear?
You are advised to wear casual, comfortable clothing with closed toe shoes.
Light refreshments in the form of tea and cakes will be served. Please mention any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
How it works
