Design your Own Hand-Tied Bouquet with a Prestigious London Florist

If you’ve got a love for all things floral and fancy learning more about what goes into the art of flower arranging, then this workshop for one, is perfect for you. Design your own hand-tied bouquet with Moyses Stevens, one of London’s most prestigious and oldest florist, and discover what goes into their stunning signature flowers, all whilst enjoying prosecco in this fantastic experience.

Begin with an introduction to the history of Moyses Stevens and British floral design in the 21st Century, before creating your first bouquet, a simple, mono-floral design of gerbera daisies.

Afterwards, you’ll create a signature ‘Moyses bouquet’, encompassing everything from flower placement, the correct way to hold the arrangement, colour pallet and forming the desired ‘dome’ effect. Take away your finished creation in an 'aqua pack' in cellophane and a handle bag, perfect for taking pride of place in your home.

What happens on the day?

On arrival you’ll meet the rest of your group, before meeting your experienced tutor, who’ll be taking you through the class. You’ll begin with a short introduction to the history of London’s oldest florist, as well as insights into British floral design in the 21st Century. Learn about different flower types and foliage varieties, before creating your first bouquet: a simple, mono-floral design of gerbera daisies which will introduce you to the principles of hand-tied bouquet design. Your tutor will show you the techniques required to tie and wrap your first bouquet, before a short break.

Afterwards, it’ll be time to put your new skills to the test as you design your very own signature ‘Moyses bouquet’. Learn everything from flower placement and how to hold the arrangement to choosing a coherent colour pallet and forming the desired ‘dome’ effect.

Once you’ve designed your distinctive, individual bouquet, you’ll then wrap it up in either cream or burgundy tissue paper and learn how to make an ‘aqua pack’ with cellophane in order to keep your flowers hydrated. The experience ends by placing your finished bouquet in handle bags to be taken home. Throughout your workshop you can enjoy prosecco or a non-alcoholic alternative, and spectators are welcome to attend and watch as you let your newfound creative skills flourish, too.

Participant guidelines

• Minimum age: 12 (Under 16s must be accompanied by a full paying adult)
• Minimum height: 4ft 8in
• Maximum group size: 12
• Prosecco is offered to all participants over 18. Alternative drinks (tea, coffee, juice) are available for minors and non-drinkers
• The venue has wheelchair access but the experience requires participants to stand for the duration of the experience
• Spectators of all ages are more than welcome to attend: there is space to sit and observe as well as toilet and kitchen facilities
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary

Availability

The experience is available from 14.00 to 17.00, 15.00 to 18.00 and 18.00 to 21.00 on selected dates throughout the year.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow 3 hours for the full experience, with additional 10 minutes early arrival to ensure a prompt start time.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
