Why so Serious?

This is a great franchise, with the famed 'I am Batman' impression we've all done, as well as the all-too-familiar theme song, and it's no surprise this hero is so popular given that he first appeared in the 1930s. It all started in Detective Comics # 27 when artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger introduced their new character 'Bat-man'. Since his introduction in DC Comics, the Dark Knight has appeared in countless TV shows and films. We can even see the Caped Crusader in LEGO console games and a LEGO movie, reaching a new generation of fans.

Who Is Behind the Mask?

Although he keeps his identity as Gotham City's defender a secret from those he protects, he is well known for his public role as Bruce Wayne. While he remains a vigilante, he is also a billionaire industrialist and a notorious charmer in his public life. Unlike other conventional heroes, Bruce lacks superhuman abilities. However, this does not prevent him from being a worthy opponent thanks to his considerable physical strength and exceptional intelligence.

As a child, Bruce witnessed his parents being shot and was raised by his loyal friend and butler, Alfred Pennyworth, which inspired him to fight crime and assist the innocent people of Gotham. The drive to become the ideal crime fighter stemmed from his desire to punish the wrongdoing done to his family, who had provided him with the tools to become this successful public figure.

Batman Begins…. Releasing Toys

As its popularity expanded in the mid-1960s, the Marx Toy Company was responsible for developing the first-ever poseable Batman action figure. The action figure was 4 inches tall and equipped with a multitude of accessories, making it the crown jewel of toys for Bruce Wayne's secret identity.

Since then, these toys have only gotten better, with the option to exercise your brain like Bruce Wayne by mastering impossible Batman jigsaw puzzles or even becoming an expert with the Dark Knight's collection of playing cards. Make this hero your personal defender with inspired wall art, or step into his shoes and make vital decisions with the caped crusader-themed board game.

The Dark Knight universe is also brought to life with LEGO Batman building kits. Fans of this vigilante can rediscover the ultimate action and crime-fighting moments with the LEGO DC Batcave, Batmobile, and many more sets, or even build a new adventure with these classic mini characters.
