When the Maitland's tragically die in a car accident, they are sent to the afterlife where they are left to haunt the house which was their home. With the arrival of the Deetz family who buy the house, the Maitland's try to scare them away from the house. After multiple failed attempts to scare the family away themselves, the couple are forced to call upon Beetlejuice (or Betelgeuse, to be accurate).
