As we get deeper into this summer, and the heat slowly ramps up, it’s important to keep yourself properly hydrated. Now, of course, water is the best way to do this, but why not do it with some style. You can easily pick yourself up some of our terrific Snow Cone Makers and start making yourself some healthy, super-tasty and cooling slushies.
Slushies can span all sorts of fantastic flavour combinations. You can go for the simple, single-fruit approach if you’re feeling unadventurous, or start going crazy and adding in things like tomato juice and cinnamon if you’re a more culinarily audacious.
Strawberry & Watermelon Slush

To start with, here’s a recipe that everyone will love, before we go on to the more adventurous recipes. All you have to do is blend all of the below ingredients and place them into a pre-frozen Slushie cup and squeeze. Ingredients:
- 3 cups watermelon(seedless, chopped into 3/4 inch chunks)
- 1/2 lb strawberries(12 large, halved)
- 2/3 cup orange juice(freshly squeezed)
- 1 tbsp lime juice(freshly squeezed)
- 1 tbsp honey
Cucumber and Basil Slush

One for those with more savory tastes who still want to be refreshed, this slush is an excellent way to keep healthy and cool at the same time. Perfect with a light chicken salad as you enjoy the rarity of the summer sun. Also great enjoyed with a pack of fresh strawberries whilst watching some summer sport. Ingredients:
- 1 kirby cucumbers(sliced)
- 2 ozs lime juice(freshly squeezed)
- 1/4 cup basil leaves
- 3 tbsps sugar
- 1/4 cup vodka
- 1/4 cup water
- 31/2 cups ice
Lemon Anise Slush

A slush with a kick! A perfect party drink to have over this world cup period: great at cooling you down and loosening up – especially if you add in the limoncello!
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1/3 cup honey
- 3/4 tsp anise seed
- 1 cup water(or yogurt, vodka or pilsner for adult version)
- ice cubes(to fill blender)
- water
- 2 tbsps limoncello
