Much like our 6 in 1 Solar Powered Robot, this T3 Robot harnesses the power of the sun to make your day that little bit more interesting. Unlike the rather cutesy 6 in 1, however, the T3 takes a slightly more aggressive stance - once you've built it you can turn it into either a tank, a scorpion or a standard robot (we're not sure there's such a thing as a standard robot, but there we are). And if those three different guises aren't enough for you then, well, you're just no fun, are you? What's not to like about a solar-powered scorpion that waddles across your desk like some mechanised arthropod? That's right - nothing.

Being a solar-powered robot or tank or scorpion, the T3 requires no batteries whatsoever, just a healthy glare of sunshine. Or, given the notoriety of our island's native climate, a functioning light bulb. It's a great little gizmo for keeping on your desk, and even better for kids who take an interest how things work. Piecing the thing together in the first place is a rewarding task to complete, and once that's finished the fun really begins. Ingenious design and an eco-friendly message - what could be better for kids and grown-ups alike?

  • The T3 Robot will, once assembled turn into a Scorpion, a Tank or a more conventional robot.
  • Just leave it in the sun and watch your robot move about.
  • Solar power means no batteries or fossil fuels - eco-friendly.
  • Great educational tool for kids.
  • Also great to have on your desk for when you're bored of work.
  • Requires assembly: 70-piece kit.
  • Requires screwdriver for assembly.
  • Solar panel output: 75mA.
  • Solar cell lifespan: 2 years with normal use.
  • Suitable for ages 8 years +.

  • 6.3 x 11 x 8 cm (though sizes do vary depending on which position you have it in).

Good but lots of parts

The T3 Solar Robot Kit is good but we haven't put it together yet as it looks like a big job. It was what I expected but if you want something quick, ready made etc. then it's not for you.

The T3 Solar Robot Kit is perfect for my nephew's Christmas!

Solar Robot

The T3 Solar Robot Kit was a wonderful gift giving hours of fun. As it's solar powered there is no need for any extras. I gave it to my nephew, and because he had to build it too it added to the fun as he is a very tactile child. Wonderful.

Great Gift to give

Bought the T3 Solar Robot Kit as part of my "little" brother's Christmas present (he's 32!). He loves it, as soon as all the presents were unwrapped this gift was out of the box and he was attempting to put it together. I did point out it was still dark, but he stated that was just a minor hurdle!

twas the night before christmas

The T3 Solar Robot Kit was a fantastic little gift bought for my girlfriend because I knew she wouldn't like it and pass it on to me. I spent a good 2 hours building the robot following the simple and well illustrated instructions. Upon completion I had a great sense of achievement. The only downfall is that the kit doesn't come with a small Philips screwdriver for the 4 screws that came with it. Had to hunt high and low for a screwdriver small enough to fit. All in all, I rate this product 4 stars. It's fun to build and even funnier to watch his walk.

skynet takes over

T3 Solar Robot Kit is a great Eco-friendly toy that kids love.

Solar Robot,,,

Great stocking filler for anyone who loves gadgets!

Solar Robot

A bit disappointed with the T3 Solar Robot Kit as it has very frail wiring. Tricky to build even when following instructions. Wiring broke and therefore couldn't proceed to make robot.

I got the T3 Solar Robot Kit for Christmas. It was quite good fun to build but requires a good amount of sunlight to work, and then doesn't do a lot anyway.
