"What's that Rover? You're hungry? You need to 'pop outside'? Gah, why can't you speak to me like a human being!"

As dog owners will know, this sort of conversation with your dog is absolutely commonplace. Your four-legged friend speaks in a completely different language and, until now, it's been impossible to understand. With the Universal Bark Translator strapped to your dog, you'll immediately know what the little chap is after because of the built-in speaker and catalogue of 12 useful dog utterances ranging from "I'm hungry!" and "I want to go outside!" to "I want attention!"

Using state-of-the-art micro-processing audio software, this nifty gifty turns your dog's bark into a human voice. More accurately (and technically), it interprets the subtle differences in timbre and associates them with certain instincts in dogs - so a little whimper might mean your dog is mildly in need of some nosh, while a yelp might mean fear or discomfort. It's all very clever, obviously, and quite surprising. When we hooked it up to our MD's dog, she was surprisingly interested in certain members of staff - must be the bacon in their pockets.

If you're having trouble understanding your dog's needs, then eliminate the guess work with the Universal Bark Translator - improving Man's relationship with his best friend.

works on cats too

I bought this for my cat and it works a treat. Be warned though you have to teach your cat to bark and that took a while (i.e meow means woof means ....?), but it's worth it!

Wow!

This is such a fantastic idea and I was so excited when my box arrived and I fitted the device to my Jack Russell - Spike. Imagine my surprise to discover that my little darling, who is a rescue dog from the RSPCA in Halifax, is in fact French! Yes, it's true, when she utters her usual woof this is now translated by the device as 'Le Woof'. now I just need to find someone to translate from French to English..... I wonder whether Spike is familiar with Racine?
