5My friend loved the Grow Your Own Chilli Plants Gift Set. I bought it as he is a massive fan of spicy food and likes to cook. A great gift idea, I would highly recommend it, especially as it has 5 different types of chilli to grow.

4I was given this Grow Your Own Chilli Plants Gift Set as I'm a chilli fan and it is fabulous! Of the 5 varieties of chilli I hadn't heard of the Hungarian Hot Wax, so was very excited to grow it. Unfortunately, this packet of seeds didn't germinate. I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if they were just no good. I planted the seeds and the chillis poked their shoots through after about a week. It took about 2 months before the first chilli was showing and another few weeks before we could actually use the fresh chillis; though I had plenty of flowers. I managed to harvest a lot of chillis and have now frozen them to use when I need to. This was such a fun gift and I would recommend it to anyone - even those who don't have green fingers. The instructions are good and other than what's in the box you only need water and sunshine. Hot stuff!

1I purchased the Grow Your Own Chilli Plants Set and followed the guidelines given, but within a week the soil had grown mould, and that's all that managed to grow. I understand there's no guarantee with seeds but I found it very poor that not a single one sprouted from both sets. I agree it comes as a nice little set but I will be sticking to garden centres in the future.

5The manual states clearly that you must start planting in March/April, so it is soon to write a review.... Nevertheless, the package is neat, the seeds are all well labeled and preserved, the coconut pots are very handy and the instructions are made for americans, i.e., they are very clear.
