Alex Delarge is an ultraviolet youth who leads a gang who causes chaos in a near-future dystopian London. His hobbies include theft, assault, murder and the music of Ludwig Van Beethoven. On one night of their usual acts, Alex is caught and arrested by the police. After 2 years in prison, Alex becomes the subject of an extreme criminal rehabilitation test. With horrendous methods of rehabilitation, Alex is cured, or is he? A Clockwork Orange comes from the visionary director, Stanley Kubrick. The film is based of the 1962 novel by Anthony Burgess of the same name. The film pushed the boundaries as it was the first of it's kind to depict murder and violence as common hobbies performed by youth subcultures. The film was banned in several countries like Singapore, Ireland and South Africa due to its sensitive themes which were deemed as too vulgar and brutal for international audiences. Although the film was banned, it was still nominated for the Academy Award for best director, best picture and best adapted screenplay, none of which it won. Relive the 1971 cinematic statement with this range from "A Clockwork Orange".
