They Think It's All Over..It Is Now
To celebrate England's participation in the South Africa 2010 World Cup Finals, Slazenger heritage have re-issued a limited edition version of the amber ball used in the 1966 World Cup final.
Slazenger were chosen above all manufacturers to produce the ball for the 1966 World Cup after winning a competition for ball quality and design. During the World Cup, yellow, white and amber balls were used but it was the famous amber that was selected for the final.
The football is a genuine hand stitched leather ball with 25 panels and is the equivalent of a size 5 ball by todays standards.
The Slazenger heritage ball features an authentic logo to the front with commemorative text to the back.
The original World Cup ball is now housed in the National Football Museum in Preston, Lancashire.
