The Hexbug Ant scuttles around on its six rotating legs at top speed. Object sensors on its rear and its antennas mean that it will scuttle off in its ant-like way as soon as it detects an obstacle. Any detection results in the Ant shooting off in another direction.

It also has a sensor at the rear so if another obstacle is detected (i.e. another wall) then the Ant will avoid this too! These funky little critters make great little desktop friends.

Hexbug Ant
What an ingenious little creature. The Hexbug Ant provides endless fun and entertainment. It works best on a kitchen floor but works great on shortpile carpet too. We have already purchased a second one and no doubt a third will be bought soon.

Disappointing
Clever but not as much as fun as the Hexbug Nano. Wish I'd bought a couple of Nanos for my nephew instead.

The perfect no hair friend
I bought this for my friend for Christmas- I was hoping for the green one and with relief I recieved it. It gets more play time than I ever expected! Wish I knew younger kids so I could buy it for all of them this year!

Entertaining toy
Very simple to use and moves in a very quirky way. Only downside is that slightly fragile, one of our legs got bent, but we fixed it with a bit of careful manipulation!

Children and insects
Bought the little fella for my 3 year olds birthday. Unwrapped the insect and set him off. He ran around the floor retreating from the kids excited and slightly fearful squeals and hid under the sofa. My 3 year old then went on to playing with a large cardboard box meaning he was forgotten about for a few days. Eventually Found him in a corner walking in circles with 3 of his legs pulled off. Great little toy but probably suited to someone a bit older.

Cute Bug
My partner loved his hexbug - so much so that he has named him! It's a clever little thing and does respond to sound and touch. When it comes to an obstacle in its path, it uses its right legs to reverse and then moves forwards again. It doesn't respond to light as the description suggests - unless ours happens to be a fan of light.

Crazy little critter
Plenty of fun for the kids. They got them in their stocking from Santa - (he's so clever). Have fun little matches among the family with them. They react to noise/touch and obstructions. Go forwards and in reverse - perhaps the crab goes sideways !?! Clever little chappies.

Dilemma Solved!
My 35yr old brother is the most awkward person to buy for as if he wants something - he buys it! He obviously hadn't heard of IWOOT - this hexbug went down a treat. Quirky, fun and kept him and his kids entertained - success all round - Thank you IWOOT =)

Really Cool Bugs
I bought this for my 5 year old for Christmas and even the adults loved it. Its really great how it responds to sound as well as physical barriers - short loud hand claps are best. Works best on smooth surfaces. Guaranteed hours of entertainment. Can't tell you how long the batteries will last as ours are still going strong which is great.

Surprisingly Cute
Even though its a bug its very cute and comical. I bought two so they could play together. Good present or a techy person

arena
very disappointing
It basically very slowly went round in a slow circle and unless a lot of high obstacles were constructed for it it was really not of much interest and would not move on carpet. It did stop when you clapped hard enough to hurt your hand. Rather typical of such gizmos more interesting in the anticipation than reality.

Cute robotic stocking-filler
Haven't played with this properly yet, but think it's fairly cute. It doesn't react as quickly as I thought it might, but it's still surprising nonetheless and an excellent stocking filler-type gift.

It's a bugs life
This is a cute little toy, and my grandson loves playing with it. On the down side, you have to clap veryloud to get it to change direction and the batteries are not easily available.

Sooooo good!
I purchased one each for my husband and two grown up sons. They played for hours with them on Christmas Day, like excited little boys. It gave me time to have a sherry before cooking dinner. They are excellent!!

Disappointing Hex
Sadly the hexbug did not respond as advertised. It reacted to neither light nor sound, but only to touch via its antennae. That was quite interesting, but NOT as interesting as I had hoped. My son is returning it. Service was excellent, but product less so. The Solar robot is yet to be constructed so I'm HOPING that will be fine.

HEXBUG
The Hexbug was a stocking filler for my little girl - it arrived within 48hrs of ordering, was very well packed and it works! As someone else mentioned, it would be nice if it wasn't running constantly as the on/off switch is a little fiddly to find, but I knew this before ordering, so am very pleased with my (ok my daughters) Hexbug :-)

Stylish Scuttling
Although not too fond of the edges of tables, the Hexbug Crab is quite adept at lying in wait beside a mouse mat, then - on a change of light level - scuttling across the keyboard and off to the other side of the desk. Like me, it doesn't like the daylight. Unlike me, it is colourful and modern. The batteries last a long time and when not in motion, the crab goes to sleep. I have not tested the non-crab Hexbugs yet.

A bit small
The Hexbug is tiny, and a bit fragile. If it falls off something high it will break. But it's very cute!

coolest nephew gift
I purchased this for my nephew for his Xmas present. He is a true boy's boy and even though he is only 6 he will love this (to play with with his dad). I am so sure I will have the most cool points for giving it to him. I haven't used it yet but it appears to be as adverstised and I am very happy with the purchase, I may have to get another for the other nephew in the USA.

Cracking crustacean fun!
I bought one of these as a joint small gift for my 9 yr old son and the cat, but when it arrived I couldn't wait until Christmas so the cat and I had a sneaky peak and try out! It's brillliant innocent fun- I couldn't stop laughing at the cat's face as the hexcrab scuttled around, changing direction and hiding. My son is going to love it and I suspect it will be one of the daft highlights of the festive season. I'm definitely going to buy a load more for all my son's friends' birthdays! I just hope the cat can still manage to look surprised on Christmas morning....
