What better way to keep yourself dry than with the Lightblade Umbrella? At first glance it looks just like any other ordinary umbrella, but one click of the button on the handle will illuminate the shaft in a bright flash of light making you look super cool on your commute to work. Stand out and be noticed the next time it rains and make your way to the office Sci-Fi style.

Utter brilliance
My friend bought me one of these for my birthday last year, knowing that i have a bit of a thing for brollies, and i was looking for excuse to go out in the dark and the wet for weeks afterwards! One of my favourite films is Bladerunner and if you watch the film again you'll notice that several people are walking around with umbrellas just like this one XD

Just brilliant
WOW yet another splendid purchase from IWOOT. I purchased the star brolly last year so fancied a change as the rainy season hits us yet again (if it ever went in the UK!) Not only does this brolly cheer me up on a wet weekday it also provides me with great fun during thunder storms. Step 1. keep your brolly up without the light on. Step 2. wait for a flash of lightning and flick the switch. Step 3. wobble about a bit and let off a high pitched yell Step 4. watch as the people around you start to panic. Evil I know but most amusing :))

A great present!
To be honest, the quality is MUCH better than I expected after reading some of the reviews here. The light is bright, the umbrella feels sturdy and substantial, the handle feels secure, so I am not sure what product some of the other reviewers have! The only thing to note is the instructions for battery insertion are wrong, but once you work out which way round they go it is fine. All in all, a very well received birthday present.

Something different & useful
Bought this because I'm a massive 'Blade Runner' fan and was surprised to find it more than just a toy. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is it's not the strongest of materials, but as long as you don't use it in a force 9 gale, it will be fine.

A real head turner!
I purchased this last year in preparation for our annual trip to the public fireworks display, having previously purchased the colour phasing one the year before. As expected, many people asked us where we bought them. They are great fun and very unique. Although I suspect sales have increased with all our recommendations :-)

Pure amusement
I bought this as a surprise pressie for my girlfriend. She thinks it is great, although she has said she will never actually use it in the rain. Apparently it is a "guess what Ive got" item for parties! The light is pretty good for the price, and definately worth buying for the entertainment value!

nice product but low quality material
umbrella is great but the handle is not solid and the plastic screw is broken almost immediately. easily repaired but not very satisfied.

FAB!
I bought this as a Christmas present for my boyfriend and he absolutely loves it!!!!! I'm half tempted to buy one for myself so we can have lightsabre fights in his kitchen. Everyone at his work was really jealous when he brought it in and it fits us both under it which is great because he's not one of those people that liike those rubbish little ones =P Thanks IWOOT!

could have been with the force
I had so much hope for being a jedi with powers to defy the rain but sadly the light is a bit limp in all but pitch black ....good if you are trying to find the keys to the starship and unlock the door though. the force is not quite with this one !

Great Conversation piece
Great little gadget, but don't put too much pressure on just the handle because it will disconnect from the rest of the pole.

i struggled to get my boyfriend to take an umbrella out with him.... until i bought this lightsaber styled brolly from IWOOT! he now not only remembers to pick up his brolly he also holds it above my head when it's raining- which it does a lot of in scotland! recommended if you are into star wars or lighting! nb. takes 3 AAA batteries

Third times a charm
What was intended as a fantastic present turned out to be a bitter disappointment. The first umbrella broke within 12 hours with the button breaking and being perminantly on. The second fell to the ground (not thrown) and the shaft broke near the handle. I'd like to replace it, but I'm fearful that it's just going to last for 6 months and break again. A good novelty, as long as you don't actually want to use it or take it out of a cupboard!

Pretty cool
pretty cool, although the shaft does not glow uniformly all the way up as it does in the clearly doctored illustration. it glows a lot more at the base and the tip than it does in the middle. still looks good though.
