No, boiling an egg isn't easy. Well OK, actually boiling it is easy, the ingredients are about as plug and play as it gets, but getting it perfect is a timing nightmare, until now. This little gizmo is, as its name suggests, foolproof. Just pop it in the water with your eggs and watch it (just so hi-tech). As the eggs cook the timer darkens towards the middle, when it reaches the right line for you, your eggs are done to perfection.
Graduated scales show when eggs are soft, medium or hard by sensing heat instead of time. The sensor accounts for the number of eggs, the amount of water, even the altitude at which the eggs are being cooked - so useful for high level cooking.

I think this is fab! It's the best thing ever invented. Before this, I couldn't cook a boiled egg right - it was either too hard or too runny to eat. But now it's just so easy - although the one problem is, I'm now left to cook everyone else's eggs as well...

At the risk of ruining that delightful little rhyme with a bit of down to earth prose, I just wanted to say that this item is absolutely brilliant! It's so easy to use and works regardless of how many eggs are in the pan (how does it do that?!). Just one little word of warning though; keep your eye on it because it changes pretty quickly from soft to medium (as you'd expect). Other than that, foolproof - exactly like it says on the tin!

I've never cooked an imperfect egg since buying this- it's a kitchen hero! You can actually make proper dippy eggs without under or overcooking them which is such a godsend for me as I'm rather picky about it...

This is the first review I have ever bothered to write, but really feeling the love for this little number!! I was very sceptical that this would actually work (in fact so sceptical that I bought one for my friend first, as her birthday present! ha! It's the thought that counts!!) .... BUT ...honest to god .. no flying pigs .. it has to be the best thing ever invented!! For anyone who gets pissed off always ending up with either, runny white or hard yolk, your future boiled eggs .. garanteed to be a stress free experience! Its just so cleaver, still amazes me every time I use it. Essential for every kitchen that has an egg cup!

I bought several of these to give to my mates at christmas cos I´ve always been so impressed with mine.
The other day I had another friend over and as she was hungry I suggested a couple of boiled eggs and toast. I got my fabtastic egg timer out, tossed it into the pan of cold water along with the eggs and told her to whip the eggs out according to the markings. "I like mine soft" I told her.
I left her to it and watched her as she monitored and took out the eggs. As she broke the top of the shell of, she said "Oh no, it´s all hard. Sorry! I guess this thing doesn´t work!!" "What does the marking show?" I asked. "Hard" she replied. DUH!!!!!

Bought this for my boyfriend our 1st christmas together (romantic I know!) but it is brilliant. As a student theres no better invention. Never again will you have to add butter to the yolk to make it gooey again!
