I had some fantastic fun with this gadget and had everyone from my son to my mates swearing at their TVs. My son had his ready to go back to the retailer until I told him what was going on,he now has one and loves it as he turns the big screen off in our club when it looks like any team might score against his much to the annoyance of their supporters. A must have!
Ever get sick of what your parents/siblings like to watch on TV? Do you just like to cause mayhem? Well it's good for both! This is a fantastic little device which is so funny to use. Also, if you want to cause even more mayhem, why not pop on down to your local TV retailer? It is so funny! Just find a seat, point it at a TV, and about 6 of them surrounding it will go off, too! It is fantastic, and would definitely recommend it to everyone.
I used this device to turn TVs off, during the day in our local independent TV retailers, after he ripped me off. After a while, I started to turn them on in the evening after the shop closed. After 2 weeks or so, the poor guy had all the screens and wires on the floor checking connections, and after 3 weeks, I had to stop, because he looked close to a breakdown. I lost a tenner at the bookies yesterday though, so I can't wait until the next big race! Muahaha!
These are amazing! Me and my friends went into several TV stores, and in each store, pretended we were just browsing around, but were really turning all of the TVs off. It so was funny to watch the store employees faces as the TVs in front of them were just turning off. It has worked with almost all TVs I've tried it on, but it doesn't work with projectors. The torch light comes in handy too!
It's good but not perfect...
This device only seems to work on flat-panel (LCD or Plasma) screens. I have not managed to get it to work on older CRT TVs. However, I have not found a flat-panel TV that won't be turned off by it! Can cause interference with other IR devices as well, but it has a good range and is discrete enough to not attract attention. Lots of fun to be had with this!
I gave this to my 27-year old nephew as a Christmas extra. Oops! He's progressed from upsetting the footy watchers in the pub ("He shoots... its... gone off") to baffling salesmen in Currys - they look really confused when, in mid demo, their 40" TV goes off - then a whole row follow... still, all that saved power is saving the planet!
Honestly? Not very good!
Bought this as i thought it would be quite fun, tried it on my home telly, it worked after around 2 minutes, i had forgot i had pressed the button by the time the telly turned off. Tried on a few friends tellys, did NOT work, it works on about 1 in 7 or 8 tellys, i went into electrical store with around 80 tellys, only 2 went off. Would not recommend @ all. GREAT WEBSITE, Let down by the product!
A practicle tool.
Ever been in a pub where they are showing some utter rubbish on their TV? Fed up with walking around shops with those TVs screaming about those things 'no home should be without'? Tired of only seeing bits of films on demo TVs? Well, now you can turn those monitors off without being detected. This doubles as a key fob with a torch, so has many practical uses.
How to get a television for free.
Step One: Buy this product from IWOOT. (Speedy postage makes for more telly time.) Step two: Take your terminator to your nearest shop, house, bar or cinema (if your lucky). Step 3: Proceed to switch on and off the television by pointing the device towards the tv without being seen. Step 4: Watch happily as the owners become frustrated and throw their telly out due to it 'not working'. Step 5: Collect your new TV cooly and walk away with a smug look on your face.
