The Robotic Arm kit arrives disassembled and contains all the pieces you'll need to make your very own desktop droid. It's remarkably easy to set up so you don't need to stress about soldering or advanced electronic engineering.
Once it's finished you'll have hours of fun finding out exactly what it can and can't do, using its controller to power the five joints and motors to swing the arm around and pick things up with its pincer like grippers.

I was expecting the Robotic Arm Kit box to be a bit more square than it was. It was a large rectangle, but it made a fantastic present for my brother who's a bit of a tech geek and incredibly difficult to buy for!
The Robot Arm takes from 3-4 hours to put together, the instruction book is all pictures/diagrams with no words. It can be difficult to identify some of the screws, so be careful. At the end make sure you plug in the wires correctly. The arm is not very strong, so take care, it can pick up a pen but not much more, I think I read that it could handle loads of 100g. It is a bit slow as the 5 motors don't drive it as quick as it could do. It's generally a nice product for the price as a decent robot can cost above. This is especially nice as I will connect it up to my new Raspberry Pi via GPio port, as intended, otherwise could be a bit boring doing much else with it.
I got this present for Christmas, and it is brilliant. 5 star! The whole 9 yards. As soon I unwrapped this whopper of a present, I discovered that this was a robot - fantastic! But then I found out that I could build it! I spent joyful weeks building it, everything from cogs to motors! When it was built, I discovered that it worked perfectly and with ease.
Bought this for my gadget / building things loving partner. Kept him busy for 2 days! He loved it
This was an amazing gift. bought this as an xmas gift for my father in law and myself to make during the holidays. took around 5 hours work, but then spent almost the rest of the holiday hooked to playing with it. Ideal item for stealing chocolates from the centre of the table! not exactly a kids toy but great for adults!
tired of tidying away your stationery? Get this!
it just an excellent toy for a 30 year old tech geek. I might buy one for myself
This takes 3-7 fun hours to bild. If you love mechanics, this will be challecing your skiils. The bould instruction is weel documented with figures. When completed it actually works ! Not ment or designed for kids in my opinion.
I purchased this for myself, and as a gift for a friend on his birthday, and can comfortably say this item delivers on its description. The construction is simple yet fiddly, making seeing the finished product come together, all that more enjoyable. My only concern is the battery compartment is very securely built in to the model, so swapping out batteries isn't simple, but you put it together so you know how to take it apart when needed. It's a really good buy - worth every penny!
