You can save up to three locations, like your car, your tent, a particular beauty spot that you want to be able to find again, and you'll have no problem using the Backtrack to find them again, no matter where you are - and all you need to do is follow the arrow, and the gadget is small enough to plonk on your key-ring. It's all very well knowing where north is, but if you don't know where it is in relation to where you're trying to get to, it makes the knowledge pretty useless.
