Trying to ram candles into the tops of wine bottles (the world's most ideal candlesticks) is a rather frustrating exercise fraught with setbacks. Firstly the candles are always too fat, and even though we know this, we still try and force the damn things into bottles, spreading rippled wax shavings all over the table. Secondly, after much huffing and puffing, the precariously balanced half-wedged candle is invariable stuffed in cock-eyed, and so proceeds to drip wax all over the place.
This set of eight Cork Candles is an altogether simpler and neater solution. Each 'cork' comes with a tapered base ensuring it will fit into any bottle, it'll burn for about three hours, and has the added advantage of sitting on the table below head height ? so you're not head bobbing round a wonky long candle in a bottle any more. A brilliant idea, beautifully executed.
