hours of fun
The Vice Grip Wine Puzzle was as described and needless to say it hasn't been solved by the recipient yet. A few things wrong about it though, the instructions could be clearer on how to set the item together. The first bit building it was clear but when it came to attaching the string it was all too unclear and I ended up having to watch a video on YouTube to figure it out, and even then it was poor quality and took a fair bit of deciphering. Secondly it says to tighten the bolt but as I did this the wood was not strong enough and therefore stripped out the centre of the hole of any reasonable grip. If they sort these problems out then it would be an amazing quality item for people to solve.
VICE WINE PUZZLE - Christmas Present
Bought this on iwoot despite still having one from one of my son's from a previous christmas. Yes, the bottle is still unopened and puzzle still sat on the top of it's neck. This was good value and plonked onto a bottle of my best red and given to my brother for Christmas with the challenge, I'll bet I can get mine off before you can get yours off. Even though I now had the instructions off his bottle puzzle... he won! Never mind we had fun doing the puzzle and the bottle of wine which I am drinking now was well worth the 2 year wait. The good thing with this is that you can recycle the present by attaching it to another bottle and challenging your family or friends!
Looks great but is easy to remove
I bought the Vice Wine Puzzle as a Christmas gift, attached to a bottle. It looks really good and makes an impressive gift. The instructions were a little cryptic but you get the idea. It's a little fiddly to set the puzzle up correctly, as shown on the box. Unfortunately, it is possible to remove the clamp simply by pulling the large wooden pin out. It requires a bit of wriggling, but when you do it's possible to unwind the clamp and remove the puzzle from the bottle. I realised it's due to the holes in the two small flat pieces of wood being slightly too large, allowing the rod and cord to be pulled through. Not good. I'd set the puzzle a few times and 'solved' it correctly, and it looked exactly as the picture on the site and the box, so I knew it was done correctly. It's a shame, because it spoiled it a little.

I love annoying presents for my nearest and dearest and this one hits the spot! It took me a while to attach to the bottle but only because I didn't read the instructions properly. Certainly caused a buzz at our Christmas get together, everyone got involved trying to solve it while I sat there looking very smug. Great gift!

It actually takes longer to read and understand the instructions of the Vice Wine Puzzle than it does for the recipient to open the puzzle!

I got this for someone that normally just gets a bottle of wine as their xmas present, and it was a brilliant choice. It had the whole family entertained.

Bought the Vice Wine Puzzle for my brother's father-in-law who loves a puzzle and red wine so it was good to combine the two! A few days later and he'd still not cracked the puzzle and it's driving him nuts. I wrapped up the solution though so when he's had enough he can get his reward whether he's worked out the puzzle or not. Fab present!
