We all need some sort of alarm to claw ourselves from the depths of sleep, but for many of us an incessant digital beep is not the sound of choice. In steps the iPod Alarm Clock to save the day. Now you can easily set your alarm to wake you with whatever your favourite song of the moment is - though perhaps not 'Wake me up before you go,go' - there are limits after all. You can easily set the alarm on your iPod to wake you with a specific Playlist, Album or Song, the Alarm Clock has an all important nine minute 'Snooze' (i.e. leave me the hell alone, this dream is more important than punctuality) function, and it will even charge your iPod while you sleep. It looks like a funked up traditional alarm clock, and the speakers are in the 'bells' on the top of the unit. It's mains powered, so you'll have no flat battery or recharging problems, and we reckon it's the alarm clock for the iPod generation. Wake up to something more tuneful than a bell or a beep, and considerably less depressing than the news.

iPod Alarm Clock
I've had one of these for years now and it is an excellent alarm clock. You wake to your favourite tracks and can hit snooze as many times as you like, I don't - I just lie and listen to my music! The sound is good and even if the clock doesn't sync to your iPod properly (you can set it to find the clock automatically when plugged in) you can still do it manually via your iPod. I'm very sad to say that unless these have undergone an upgrade since my purchase, they are only suitable for older iPods so I would check before purchase to make sure it is compatible. I had a 1st gen Nano and a 3rd gen iPod classic that worked fine and charged in the clock. Since Apple replaced my 1st gen with a 6th gen nano recently I can't use it as an alarm as the new nano doesn't have this facility, although you can still play music and charge through the clock. My 3rd gen died and went to Apple heaven and was replaced by the iPod touch. We have two iPod touch's a 2nd and 4th gen. Both work fine but the clock cannot charge the touch's like it does the other iPods, something to do with the connector on the clock. iPod Shuffles will not work as they are "auxiliary in" only. I hope this helps anyone thinking of purchasing one as they are a brill bit of kit, just make sure you check which iPods are compatible.
