Oh Dear!

Recently decided that I and assorted Grandbrats should pay more attention to the heavens. Constellations Orion and the Plough are well known. Other constellations - not so. Wanted to have a picture on the ceiling to help. Whatever it is that you are trying sell was useless. Negative semolina is the general view!!

Brilliant

I cannot praise the Astroeye Planetarium enough. It teaches all the major constellations including all the star signs. You can set it to show what constellations appear at a certain time of year and also to seamlessly scroll through 12 months. The unit comes with 2 viewing disc, one showing the constellations and star signs, the other showing the stars and planets, leaving you to work out where all the constellations are. To top it all you can set it as a night light to switch itself off after a predetermined time scale. All in all, if you have an interest in space and the cosmos then this is a must!

Starry eyes!

We love this! The higher the ceiling the better. Pop some pink Floyd on; get the duvet on the floor and lay down and watch the galaxy go round. :)

Fantastic little "planetarium"

Setup: The box is straight forward and the AstroEye Planetarium is fully assembled (missing the batteries and the star chart). Once 3 x AAA batteries and the chart (either with zodiacs or without) are inserted it is only a matter of pressing play and focusing the stars on a ceiling or wall. Quality is okay, I'm not trying to kid anyone, the planetarium is not going to compete with a professional one and the material is plastic down to the lenses (as far as I can make out) but for a first attempt to get your kid or partner interested in the stars or as a gimmick to add to a room it is fine. The star chart is the actual northern hemisphere and not random light dots as with most toy ones. Overall: A good value for money "educational Toy" or a nice and easy way to make the ceiling of your bedroom more interresting. Also could be used as a night light.

4 stars

It's quite light and there are 2 slides- with or without the constellations. I quite like the plain one, on a slow rotation. It's quite relaxing to look at and there's a timer option for it to switch off after 30 or 60 minutes. Runs on 4 AAA batteries. Overall it's nice and relaxing to look at.

Very pleased I bought it :)

I bought this AstroEye Planetarium for my other half as a present as I had previously bought him a 'Name a Star' kit (also from IWOOT). He decided, after I fell pregnant a few months later, that he would name the star after our child, which he did (as it happens the constellation the star is in, Sagitarious, also happened to be our sons star sign, and he was born 3 months early!). So I bought this very awesome celestial globe/projector. One thing, don't expect a big round projection on your ceiling as I did. It projects an oval of it and rotates round it to show northern and southern hemispheres. Both slides, with and without the constellations labelled are amazing and lovely to fall asleep to. It's a perfect nightlight, for parents and babies. I look forward to Stanton enjoying his nightlight and learning about the night sky at the same time. The shooting star function is great but it doesn't dot all around the projection, it stays central just a different angle due to the rotating (and why it's only available on rotating mode or it would be in the same place every time). I love this item, and I'm happy with the price I paid for it.

AstroEye Planetarium

Flawless transaction, the AstroEye Planetarium is an excellent product. My mother was thrilled and it is very well priced compared with similar items. I'm in her good books for once!

Good!

I got the AstroEye Planetarium as a Christening present for my godson who's way too young to appreciate it yet. I took it for a spin to test it out and although the constellations were not in the exact positions relative to one another, the results were good! I'll make an Astrophysicist out of him yet!

Not what I expected

I bought this item as a xmas present for my boyfriend who is quite into his astronomy but found that the projection quality is not what it looked like from the photos.

Disappointed

2

Don't get over excited with this AstroEye Planetarium, I'm very disappointed. You can create the same with a black piece of card, pin and a torch. The feel of the product is also very cheap and plastic. There is also no real purpose to the date setting because you see the same stars (holes) but the rotation starts from a different place. This product is not the product it appears to be.
