In this fantastic two-hour experience, you’ll learn to shoot a traditional English longbow by challenging yourselves against a series of targets with the help of a dedicated instructor. Shooting with handcrafted longbows and arrows against Medieval-themed targets, you’ll feel right in the heart of battles some 600 years ago! This experience is not only great fun, it connects you to historic British heritage in a truly unique way.

What happens on the day?

On arrival at Now Strike Archery, you’ll meet your qualified instructor. Get ready to channel your inner Robin and Marion as you learn to shoot a traditional English longbow! Become competent with bow learning with the help of your instructor, before practicing your new skills and challenging yourselves against a series of targets at progressive distances.

Participant guidelines

• Minimum age: 8 (under 18s need parental/guardian consent)
• Please note: there should be no alcohol or illegal substances consumed either before or during the experience
• Spectators are welcome, however views may be restricted
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary

Availability

• Vouchers are valid for 9 months from the date of issue
• Available on selected days throughout the year, both weekdays and weekends. Date restrictions may apply.
• We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. Weekends are particular busy and we advise you to book at least eight weeks in advance. All bookings are subject to availability.
• Please allow approximately 2 hours for the full experience

What should I wear?

You should wear comfortable casual clothing suitable for the time of year and weather conditions.

What about the weather?

Bad weather may affect your experience. If your experience cannot take place due to the weather an alternative date will be offered to you. You are advised to contact the location the day before your experience.

Additional information

Please mention any dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Please can you ensure you arrive on time for the safety briefing, otherwise you will have to wait until it is safe for the instructor to collect you to start your experience, which can be disruptive to run again as the group will already be up and running.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
