Tap into your creative side and relax in the idyllic surroundings of the Herefordshire countryside with this Introduction to Pottery for Two at Eastnor Pottery.

Surrounded by rural tranquillity, you’ll have the chance to discover a hidden talent, find your newest hobby, or simply foster some creativity, as well as reaping the therapeutic benefits of working with clay. Kicking things off with tea or coffee, the two of you will be designated a potter’s wheel to share. You’ll have a professional potter at hand throughout to coach you through the process as you each produce a clay pot, which you’ll then paint and decorate with coloured slips and underglazes.

Your creations will need to dry thoroughly before they can be fired and glazed. They receive two firings and are in the kiln for a total of 4 days. This whole process usually takes a month. Your ceramic masterpieces will be available for collection from the Studio approximately one month after your session.

What happens on the day?

On arrival at The Pottery, you’ll be greeted by a friendly member of staff and begin your day with a complimentary tea or coffee. You’ll then be designated a potter’s wheel to share between the two of you, as well as a professional potter to guide you through the process.

You’ll each create a clay pot, painting and decorating it with coloured slips and underglazes. You’ll leave your creations to be fired and glazed; they receive two firings and are in the kiln for a total of 4 days. This whole process usually takes a month. Your ceramic masterpieces will be available for collection from the Studio approximately one month after your session. P+P can be arranged at £5 per pot.

Participant guidelines

• Minimum age: 16 (under 18’s need parental or guardian consent)
• All abilities welcome - no experience necessary
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary

Availability

Scheduled workshops take place, from 10.00, 11.30, 14.00 or 15.00, Tuesday to Saturday, subject to availability.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow 1 hour 30 minutes for the full experience.

What should I wear?

Please wear old clothes and footwear. You will be provided with use of a towel and an apron.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
