The World at War: The Ultimate Restored Edition is the definitive version of one of the greatest documentary series ever made. Each frame has been painstakingly restored and the audio enhanced and upgraded so that this is the best this award-winning series has ever looked and sounded.
Narrated by Laurence Olivier and first broadcast in 1973 when memories of the Second World War were still clear in people's minds and the war's veterans numerous, over 26 episodes this unique series assembled these recollections, together with archive footage, to create one of the most powerful and successful historical documentaries ever seen. The voices of those that fought, worked or watched during the war gave each episode a vivid sense of what it was like to be there and was the hallmark of the series.

Brillaint product. Of great interest to all who value the contributions made by so many during this period. Quality of the restored edition is first rate. A truly historically significant product.
The World at War, a birthday gift from my wife. A state-of-the-art documentary not to be underestimated. The advantage speaks for itself when it was made in 1973/74, obvious to say a lot of people were still alive that had experienced the war itself being interviewed by the producers of this brilliant series which comes all in one package. I had never believed to see Albert Speer being interviewed on this, a remarkable man. Hitler's secretary had been interviewed as well, she had been courageous to agree to this interview which was extensive. One could not possibly imagine what this is all about without seeing it first, the producers were expert in their field. that is for sure. And of course one would finally ask the question; is there anything about the 'death camps in it?' The producers made this a specialty, they thought it was a must to include this, after all, the persecution of the Jews was what Nazi ideology is all about. It explains a lot about what the persecution was all about making it easier to understand. Of course there are many other documentary's made since this one was produced, however, this one is worth while getting and will not disappoint.
Loads of extras and fully restored.
