Very disappointing
1I thought this product would free up space taken up by old cassettes as they would easily be converted to mp3s. Howeverthe supplied software does not seem to work; it stops part way through the conversion process. There is also some software from Audacity supplied which I suspect would get the job done. However I find it less than user friendly and I really don't feel like spending a day getting to grips with software before being in a position to convert my music. I'm very disappointed. If you already have a reasonable knowledge of this type of software then you'll probably be quite happy as you'll figure it out. If you just want something that does a nice quick conversion - save your money.

Needs accessories to be purchased (not explained)
3You need to have iTunes downloaded to your PC (not explained in the manual). You also might need to purchase an AC adapter as the AA batteries might not last.

Tape Express
2Temperamental. Sometimes it's a breeze, at others it won't download to iTunes. Sometimes it records both sides, sometimes only one. Hit and miss.

Teething Problems
3Using the Tape Express has not been a very pleasurable process! The initial upload of software was quick and easy and it looks great but uploading it hasn't been easy. The process of having to enter every detail of the tape you upload is long and tiresome. Be prepared to spend hours transferring music! The tech support I've had from ION themselves though has been great and they are really helpful.

5what a fantastic idea! I have tapes from long ago of my children when they were very young, telling stories, singing songs and some of their favourite old nursery song tapes that they would now like to play to their children, I can now put them onto cd and add them to their stockings, they will be delighted!

Brilliantly simple gadget
5This is so easy to use, within 10 minutes of opening the box I had learnt how to transfer a very precious old tape recording of my grandfather's accordian music onto MP3 file on my computer - how fantastic! You can even plug in ear phones and listen to your old tapes from the product or play through the computer speakers - excellent !!!
