Fantastic item!
4Very easy to operate and install. Worked a treat and came very quickly.

1Product wont even install on my (relatively new) PC. E-mailed manufacturer for help, no reply after a week. I guess i'll have to return product to IWOOT as it is obviously faulty

3Very easy to setup and use, but introduces a loud hiss in the recording, which you can somehow fix with the advanced software (then it is not so easy). For old low quality tapes it is OK. Anyway, what else can you ask for at that price?

5I bought this for my mistress (yes, that's right) who was being bought an iPod by her sister at the same time. Being a real 60’s music fan (although she’s not really old enough to have actually “been” there) she has miles of cassette tape on numerous shelves. She regularly tunes into Classic Gold and tapes hours of the show, editing out the adverts and the talkie bits. Getting an iPod she is bound to want to convert those scores of cassettes into MP3. And that indeed was the case. I can assure you that anyone in a similar position (having lots of cassettes – not being a mistress) this gadget is a must. She was very pleased with it because………. The instructions are simple and extremely clear. The operation is a breeze; she had it up and running inside ten minutes. The sound reproduction was more then adequate and at the moment her sister has borrowed it and there are a queue of others waiting in line keeping her stock high as she requests small favours in return for the loan. It works very well and does everything it says on the box. Yes, one very happy recipient who made sure I was happy soon afterwards.

3Great piece of kit - does exactly what it says it will, and reliably. Works a treat. What lets it down is the workmansip of the casing. It looks great, but handling it reveals that it is cheap plastic. The 'metal' bits are not metal - they're silver painted plastic. A shame, really. as I'm not sure how robust this will turn out to be.

Thanks for the support Clair Mac Beth at Iwantoneofthose.com for all of your help & Support. and good luck everyone.

4Bought this for my dad to convert his old tapes to put on CD. Whilst the device itself is pretty good (except that it lacks a tape counter for you to know where abouts you are on a tape), the EZ Tape Converter software is a bit lacking. It's supposed to split tracks for you, but it didn't work and there are no settings to give you any degree of control at all. Forgetting the software though, the device itself registers itself as an audio input device, so you don't need a cumbersome tape player and audio leads to plug it into the MIC/AUX IN inputs, etc, etc. If you have a wave editor, eg. Adobe Audition - or probably even the sound editor you get with it, Audacity - and you have some experience in editing digital audio waveforms (not too hard to pickup if not) you can use this to record an entire tape, as the wave editor software will pick up the sound via USB and it will appear in your editor as an audio waveform. Then you just need to split the wave file you get into individual tracks (you can clearly see the breaks between tracks) and save them in whichever format you want. So all-in-all, worth the money for the convenience of the hardware, but just don't expect much from the supplied software!

5Fantastic gadget. Purchased it for my partner who is a music freak and technophobe! He found it really simple to install and use and hasn't left it alone since. Good quality, very good value for money. If you have tapes you need one of these!

2Either I have particularly difficult cassette tapes or the Tape Express is not powerful enough, as the speed of the tape when playing back and recording gradually slows so that the whole thing becomes ridiculous. Therefore, for me, this is only usable for the small parts of the beginnings of tapes. Not really what I needed.
