Description

Just when your friends thought they'd figured out Don't Break The Bottle by finally setting free that bottle of Rioja they'd been looking forward to since Xmas, we introduce the Vice Wine Puzzle. Maybe someone you know has a birthday coming up? Pick up a bottle of their favourite wine or liqueur and slip this little device over the top of it. They'll be sure to appreciate the booze all the more once the puzzle has been solved. We've had this in the office for the last few days and it's nearly reduced a grown man to tears trying to liberate a bottle of Baileys! If you're a fan of puzzles and brain teasers or know somebody who can't resist a challenge then you need to make sure this is your next party piece.

  • The Vice Wine Bottle Puzzle is the befuddling wooden puzzle that fits standard wine, spirit, herb vinegar, olive oil, and pop bottles.
  • The puzzle includes wooden puzzle pieces and linking cord.
  • Instructions are included if it all gets too much.
  • Bottle is not included.
  • Suitable for ages 18 years+.
  • Size: 14 x 9.5 x 9.5cm.

VICE WINE PUZZLE - Christmas Present

Bought this on iwoot despite still having one from one of my son's from a previous christmas. Yes, the bottle is still unopened and puzzle still sat on the top of it's neck. This was good value and plonked onto a bottle of my best red and given to my brother for Christmas with the challenge, I'll bet I can get mine off before you can get yours off. Even though I now had the instructions off his bottle puzzle... he won! Never mind we had fun doing the puzzle and the bottle of wine which I am drinking now was well worth the 2 year wait. The good thing with this is that you can recycle the present by attaching it to another bottle and challenging your family or friends!

Excellent!

I love annoying presents for my nearest and dearest and this one hits the spot! It took me a while to attach to the bottle but only because I didn't read the instructions properly. Certainly caused a buzz at our Christmas get together, everyone got involved trying to solve it while I sat there looking very smug. Great gift!

I got this for someone that normally just gets a bottle of wine as their xmas present, and it was a brilliant choice. It had the whole family entertained.

Don't bother

I was looking forward to giving this as a gift however my optimism soon turned to disapointment when I not only could not actually get the puzzle onto the bottle, but one of the glued pieces came off in my hand. The instructions provided would give Stephen Hawking trouble. Big disapointment.

fiendishly good present

Bought this for my father and added a £15 bottle of wine. It took him 3hrs but it was good wine! Enjoyed every minute of the 3hrs watching him sweat....recommend it to all.

Wanted to put it in a Vice!

Although this is a fantastic idea for a gag gift, I think the gag was on me! Three of us followed the instructions to the letter for putting the vice onto a bottle in order to give it to my mates as an Engagement present and we could not get the last knot! In the end, I gave it to them in the box with a bottle of wine and they still haven't been able to do it.

I bought this for friends birthday, it kept 3 people occupied for about 2 hours before they cracked it! The only downside is the instructions - not helpful at all.

I want that champagne!

I got this for my dad for Christmas. Took me about half an hour trying to figure out how to put it on the bottle (with the instructions), and then took seven family members all of Christmas day trying to get it off - they didn't succeed! Since then a good number of other family members along with friends, neighbours and the local MP have all tried, but the bottle is still locked :) I have promised my dad that if he hasn't solved it by next Christmas I will get him some power tools and he can take it off! Really good fun, and hilarious watching people struggle with it! Just glad that it's a decent bottle of Champagne that won't go out of date (though it may explode due to all the shaking!)! I'd recommend it to anyone, even non-drinkers, as it fits on pretty much all bottles. Thanks IWOOT!

Easy or Knot?

It took me about 45 minutes to set up the 'vice wine puzzle' on a bottle of Baileys as a little teaser for the Mrs. When she passed on trying to solve it, it took my 12 year old about 30 seconds to release the puzzle (and 'no' he didn't get he contents!). Hmmm!

Useless Instructions

The puzzle itself is great and a real talking point, but, and its a very big but, the instructions are terrible. The pic on website compared to the pic on the instructions are completely different. I managed to construct the puzzle after 7 hours because I read the reviews of others, still not convinced I did it correctly.

mah....

It was alrite... the string broke before we even got it together. After fixing and gifting it took the acceptor all of about 10mins to work out. It did its job i guess, some amusement and stalled a good bottle of wine! There are better ones out there though.

Awful

Awful product, with awful instructions. Bought it despite bad reviews saying that impossible to piece together with instructions - thought that would just take a bit of intuition to put together.... how wrong I was - threw it in the bin in frustrations - how can instructions be so bad?!

Awesome for the buyer and receiver

Firstly, before I say anything about the gift... the service from "iwantoneofthose.com" was amazing. The gift arrived the next day. It was shockingly fast. Ok, the gift... was brilliant. It arrived, my 3 friends spend around 1hr - 2hrs solid trying to attach this to the bottle for my Dad. They failed. I then tried for 1hr and managed to do it. It was AWESOME fun for all of us. Get this, give youself time to fit it. My dad still hasnt figured it out since xmas day. Its perfect. BRILLIANT. :)

Worse instructions ever

The puzzle works for the giver as well as the receiver. The instructions are so useless that I spent ages puzzling out how to attach the puzzle to a bottle.

big mistake in the instructions! lol

spent ages trying to figure out the instructions. finally worked out the directions they give to sove the puzzle are actually the directions you should follow to lock the puzzle.

For the Guy who has everything

I bought two of these as Christmas presents. Had a sneaky look before I wrapped them. How annoying are these going to be!! Well made and a great talking point for friends and guests alike when they are "attached" to the bottles. I like both the people I bought them for but don't know how long they'll like me for!! A good product to buy for the man (or woman) who has everything and is really difficult to buy for.

Doesn't Work!

The instructions are not very clear and the device is impossible to do! ended up cutting the string to put it together and then burning it back together! think we are going to have to get it off the same way! ...it explains all the easy steps and then doesn't tell you anything about the difficult parts. wouldn't recommend this to anyone.. i had everyone i know trying to make it up!

Its A puzzle

I have seen reviews on this item complaining about the instructions but went ahead and bought it anyway, its great it was a challenge putting it together and I enjoyed it, but not half as much as I am when watching the recipient trying to get at there bottle. Great product loads of fun for all, and great service from Iwoot, Thanks

Tricky individual

Once we mastered the instructions which were not very clear, or precise, we had hours of fun watching everyone in the bar trying to get their free drink!! Worth it just for that reason of watching so many confused people!

Locks of fun

I bought this to add a twist to my bestmans gift at my wedding, and it drove him mad trying to get this undone.I took pitty on him and gave him the instructions in the end. great to add a twist to a gift.

Seriously awesome present!

Well, I think the title says it all. I bought this as a birthday present for my best friend, with a bottle of his favourite alcohol inside... The look on his face was hilarious!! I would upload the video I took, but its in the wrong format, so I can't put it on youtube which means it won't go on here... Darn!

Like lego for adults

BUT NOT AS MUCH FUN. Really, i've bought many things from IWOOT and they've never failed me but this was terrible. The instructions were dire and we couldn't even lock the bottle in let alone start to enjoy trying to unlock it. it was a present for my dad's 70th - wanted to attach it to a very nice bottle of wine. We gave up in the end and just drank the wine.
