Harry Beck's famous schematic of the London Underground Map has become a classic contemporary work of art - um... if that isn't a contradiction in terms. No surprise then that some bright spark has decided to adorn yet another achingly cool item with his design, the espresso cup. We're not sure what it is about espresso that makes it so cool, perhaps it's the cosmopolitaness of it, the Italianess of it, some sort of ness at any rate. Anyhow, these urban-chic London Underground Espresso cups and saucers come as a set of two in very posh packaging, and depict random sections of Zone 1 (the 'it' zone when it comes to the tube) on both the cup and the saucer. Choose a pair that runs from Paddington to Angel, High Street Kensington to Bank, Earls Court to London Bridge, or indeed all six to complete the zone. They may not be much use for finding your way around the underground warren that is the tube, but they make damn fine and stylish espresso cups.
