Xploda is the type of game that puts your heart in your mouth, though not in a Hannibal Lecter way. It's a bit like Russian Roulette, except that the bang at the end isn't terminal unless you suffer from a dodgy ticker.

You play the game by inserting an inflated balloon into the Xploda, pressing the Randomiser button, and passing it round a group of friends. There's a wheel of fortune type spinny thing in the middle which each person spins, and it decides whether you spin again, pass it to your left, right, or have the happy choice of giving it to anyone at random in the group.

This is all very jolly, but deep in the machine a time bomb is ticking away, and at an indeterminate time a tiny needle will zip out of the unit and pop the balloon. You never know when it's going to happen, it could be in a matter of seconds, or minutes, but whenever it happens you can be sure whoever's holding the Xploda at the time will jump out of their skin (possibly into someone else's) and shriek like a banshee - all of which is well worth the wait. It's not for the faint-hearted, but Xploda is a brilliant nail-biting game that's almost more fun and tense to watch than it is to play.

A hopping, popping, time bomb of a game.
An Xploda in which you insert an inflated balloon.
A Randomiser button underside which starts the internal time bomb, resulting in a random zipping out of a pin and popping of the balloon.
In the meantime the Xploda gets passed around a group, each person spinning a wheel dictating which direction the Xploda is passed and whether you skip a go or not.
The popping of the balloon signifies the end of the game and causes a big old fright.
Suitable for up to 8 players.
Suitable for ages 8 years+.

I bought X-Ploda Roulette for my cousin on his birthday and it wasn't long before we had to get it out of the box to try it. Great as it is, but with a little imagination can be used as a fun drinking game or try filling the balloons with water for extra excitement!
