Feeling a bit blue, a tad green, red and saucy, purple and fruity, white and bright? This super-stylish new lamp from Philips has not one or two, but 16 million (huh?) colour possibilities - and that's more moods than even someone with one sandwich short of picnic could possibly have. This clear globe with it's fluted and ribbed core contains a mere 4 LEDS, so how come all the colour? The secret lies in the sleek and astonishing remote control handset. On it you can control the brightness and saturation of any colour or combination of colours you care to mention, but the piece de resistance is the colour wheel. It's a circular touch-sensitive colour control that lets you slide your finger through all the colours of the rainbow (and a whole lot more) - oh and there's even a dimmer to temper the temperature of your mood. Basically what they've developed here is one light that can become a hundred. It needs to sit on a flat surface (the floor is obviously ideal) and the light shines up at about 40 degrees or so, so it's perfect for a colour wash across a wall, the only hard thing to decide is which colour you want, and it's also pretty hard to stop playing with the remote and that funky colour wheel.
