Not only is it mains powered, but it's also battery powered, and whilst you can't exactly slip it in your pocket, the player is smaller than a briefcase, very light and truly a play anywhere class act. The Portable Turntable has a built-in speaker, an efficient belt-drive motor that operates at 33, 45, and 78 RPM and pitch control. There are also RCA line level outputs (so you can hook it up to your stereo) as well as 1/4" and 1/8" headphone outputs. Playing all standard record sizes up to 12 inches, it has a built-in cartridge with removable stylus, along with a slip-mat and a 45 RPM adapter. With infinitely more street cred than any old iPod, chilling out to music in the park has never been quite so aesthetic, it's almost makes for a scene from a Merchant Ivory movie.
