Show a loved one just how special they are by naming a unique pack of rose seeds after them that they can grow into a beautiful bush and cherish forever. Sticking your arm out of the car window at the traffic lights, and buying a dying bunch of GM pumped roses from an old bucket is just so not a romantic gesture.
Having a Rose named after your amour however, is about as romantic as it gets. This boxed Name A Rose kit comes with everything you need to name a rose. The kit includes a packet of unique and unnamed rose seeds, a registration card, a growing guide and a Name a Rose certificate to make your new rose official.
Simply fill in the enclosed registration card (adding the name of the person to be immortalised) and the name will be registered on the Name A Rose database and submitted to the British Library. Once registered you will also be sent an A4 certificate with the name of the rose printed on it.
With a little luck (if you read the rose growing guide) you will soon be the owner of a bunch of roses that no-one else on the entire planet could possibly have grown. Now isn't that a load more romantic than a sad old bunch of wilters?

very disappointed
Having been bought a Name a Star gift by my mum for Xmas & discovering that my grand certificate received after I named my star actually meant nothing in the Astronomical world I thought I had better check this out too. Guess what? The International Rose Naming Registry does not even exist - google it, all you get are ads to buy a "Name a Rose". It might be a nice gesture, but you're not going to receive what you are led to believe.

NAME A ROSE
I bought this for my dad who has everything and is a mad gardener. I thought it was quite a unique gift that he could give a very unique name to which would be kept forever. He was over-joyed with it and said he knew exactly what he wanted to call it. An excellent present for the hard to buy person ie ones who have everything and garden mad people.

massive disappointment!!
It sounded beautiful- I bought this for my new baby daughter when she was born, gave it to my dad to grow for me ( he's a keen gardener), with every intention of naming the rose after her and nothing grew. Waited months and still nothing. Won't bother again. Hugely disappointed, as was my dad- who felt a little bad too.

For the gardener who thought they had everything
Only time will tell whether this lives up to expectations. My dad loves gardening and I was really stuck for an xmas pressie. Someone showed me this - what a great idea. I can't wait to see how his green fingers fare with growing these roses from seed. Wonder if he'll name it after me ?

Excellent and Romantic Present
An unusual and thoughtful present. 4 stars rather than 5 because although my wife's green fingers will ensure success (and I'm insisting she doesn't name it after me), I'm not sure that my newly-rehoused offspring and their spouses will be equally successful. Nevertheless, they were very enthusiastic.

First thing I have bought
This is the first purchase I have made on the site. The description was good and honest and delivery was very good! I can't say whether the purchase works because it's a present for a friend for Christmas, and we won't know until the roses grow! But I thought it was a spiffing idea for a keen gardener. Who knows? Perhaps the rose will be named after me!

name a rose
Bought this for Mum's Birthday. She is a keen gardener and thinks it is an absolutely fantastic gift. Was delighted with the Gift wrapped package too. I was stuck for ideas of what to get for her and this just suited her down to the ground...
