MixmanDM2

The Mixman DM2 is every budding DJ or composer's dream. With this funky and compact double deck unit you're just a USB port away from musical heaven. Simply plug it into your PC, chose a style of music, add bass lines, samples, your own voice (this can be embarrassing at times ;)) then re-mix and create your very own sounds.

We spent hours mucking about with this thing, there's just so much you can do - we especially liked the dual independent scratching decks. There's a W.A.R.P joystick which lets you transform your mix with real-time warp effects, a cross-fader, dozens of vocals, beats and effects, real-time control of pitch, volume, panning and tempo - basically dozens of fun toys and knobbly bits to play with, and you can even import your own .wav files. There are 30 pre-mixed tracks to choose from and butcher at will, and over 600 track files to explore. We put together a silly little track in a matter of minutes - if only we had talent it would no doubt be number 1 by now.

One of the best things about the Mixman DM2 is the PC interface which makes it incredibly easy to use. But it's not the best thing - oh no, the best thing is that at the click of a button you can publish your own track on the net! Simply click a button and your song will be broadcast on Mixman Radio on the internet, so everyone can hear your masterpiece. Of course if you want to release a CD you can also export your track as a CD quality file - then all you need to do is burn off a few copies and send them to A&R men in tight trousers. Fame may be closer than you think.

If you want to add vocals to your creation (and who wouldn't), there's an accessory microphone headset available separately.
