Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers(1993–1996) is a TV series that centres around a group of five teenagers 'with attitude'. Chosen by an alien sage called Zordon to fight the evil sorceress Rita Repulsa, the teens — Jason (Austin St. John), Trini (Thuy Trang), Zack (Walter Emanuel Jones), Kimberly (Amy Jo Johnson), and Billy (David Yost) — are given Power Coins. These grant superhuman abilities and allow the wielders to suit up in colourful outfits.

In addition to the Power Coins, they also receive weapons and pilotable machines referred to as Zords. Each of Zords can be combined together to form a Megazord, which enables the Rangers to face a myriad of invading monsters.

Since the original series, the Power Rangers franchise has expanded dramatically. The original five are now amongst more than 100 other heroes, including the popular Tommy Oliver (the Green Ranger).
