Fortunately for us some boffin has discovered the power of magnetic fields over booze. This clever little device, which looks like any run of the mill wine pourer, is anything but. Hidden inside is a set of especially placed magnets that create a magnetic field, this field polarises the molecules in the liquid which breaks up the bitter tasting tannins in your drink. It's by no means restricted to wines, it works equally as effectively on refining the taste of port, whisky, vodka and even beer. It's pretty hard to imagine how on earth it works, unless you have some kind of geeky degree in magnetic flux technology or something, but then we don't know how all sorts of things work, but rejoice in the fact that they do (we still think ball point pens are clever).
