With its self-powered Swiss illumination system that glows for a staggering 25 years, the Luminox* Original Dive Watch is water resistant to a mighty 200 metres. We suggest you don't test this personally as at 200 metres down you may find that even though your watch will be functioning perfectly, you very probably won't be. As suppliers to the US Navy Seals, Luminox ensure that their watches are even harder than the guys that wear them. The Dive Watch has an ABS plastic injection moulded 35 mm case, and is protected by a sapphire tinted glass window made of tempered scratch resistant mineral glass crystal. It's entirely Swiss made with a multi-jewel Swiss quartz watch movement, has a unidirectional ratcheting bezel featuring a bright traser "dot" encased in aluminium, and a four year battery with an EOL early warning system to let you know when the battery needs replacing.
So how good are Luminox watches?

Each watch employs tiny self-powered micro gas lights developed by the world leader in the luminous compound industry. These micro gas lights (borosilicate glass capsules) are installed into the hands, hour markers, and when necessary, their bezels, and need no external light source to "charge" the paint on the dial or hands in order to glow. Nor do they require a push of a button to light the dial as do watches with electro luminescence. It's the ultimate illumination system, will glow continuously for more than 25 years, and glows 100 times brighter than other luminous watches! It comes as no surprise that all Luminox watches are entirely Swiss made, with multi-jewel Swiss quartz watch movement, and of course they're very water and shock resistant. Sheer excellence, hard as nails, and deeply stylish, these watches are utterly reliable and can take anything you can throw at them (that's of course assuming you can't pick up a Hummer and lob it - that may be a bit much).

A watch has to do one thing well: tell you the time, instantly. The date and seconds are a bonus. Being able easily to see the time at night is an extra bonus. Having all this in the coolest black package on your wrist (instead of on your mobile in your pocket) is better than a very good thing. Excuse me, would you like to know the time madam?

Keeping a luminox on your wrist is the first challege. My girlfriend stole it to go on a safari holiday. I stole it back to go ice climbing. In a state of beer, I bet I could drive over it in my landrover. I did (on a private road of course) my mates expensive swiss watch was rolloxed. It glows so brightly you can find it in the dark when you chuck it off in a hurry in the bedroom. just look for the ghostly glow. I love this watch. It takes a battering and handles it. total reliable quality

Actually, diving to 200m is fine (with or without scuba - the freedive world record is a whopping 225m without breathing apparatus, and scuba divers have been doing 200m+ dives for years). But the watch would probably leak - a 200m rating on the case doesn't mean it can stand the pressure of someone moving around under 200m of water, which is a lot greater. So there. :)
