Please note that due to us Brits supposedly not getting the 'Hibachi' thing, UK Son of Hibachis are now called 'Grilletto'.
There was a time in the past when almost every BBQ was a Hibachi, this is no longer true, the king is dead, BUT - 'Long live the King!' as a new supreme leader is born in 'Son of Hibachi'. Aside from the name sounding like something you'd shout when you banged your head, the Son of Hibachi does what all other portable BBQ's don't. If you had to write a list of all the things wrong with mobile BBQ's it would probably go something like this: They take ages to get going; they're not compact; they're a nightmare to clean and carry; they're too hot to handle; they seldom have adjustable cooking heights, and often have a small cooking area; they take hours and hours to cool down; you have to carry the charcoal as well as the BBQ, and then where do you put the ash when you're done?
Meet the solution to all of these problems. Son of Hibachi, aside from being compact and highly portable, will light and be ready to cook in 7-10 minutes, has two adjustable height double cast iron grilling surfaces, will extinguish itself in a matter of minutes, is self cleaning (!!!!), keeps the ash in the BBQ for disposal later, comes with a snuff out pouch (so no waiting for coals to cool), and has legs to stop it scorching the ground.
'How on earth?' we hear you cry, or would if we were standing within earshot and you cried it. Well basically when in its folded position, the two grills act as a chimney, which more or less turns it into a blast furnace that gets the charcoal to cooking temperature in no time at all. When you're done cooking, you fold it back into the chimney shape and it burns itself out at such high temperatures that the super-heat burns all the grease and scraps from the grills. It also comes with a snuff out pouch which you can put the BBQ into even when it's red hot (it's made from the same stuff they make firemen's clothes out of). All the ashes collect in the base, the grills are designed so you hardly ever get flare up burning your food when you're cooking, the carrying handles become the legs, and, well, look they've just thought of everything, and packaged it up in a tough and beautifully well made, highly portable kit. Durability, reliability and functionality are what the Son of Hibachi is all about, long may he reign.

What an absolute pleasure! When we ordered it we didn't know we were in for a treat. It really lives up to the easy-to-clean claims and heats up pretty quickly! The snuff-out pouch is wonderful - we took it for a picnic and didn't have to wait for the heat to subside or find a place to dump the pesky ash.
Absolutely wonderful!

Straight up, I kid you not, this is a fantastic BBQ. They are not blagging you with the sales bumf! It does exactly what it says on the tin. I liked it that much I bought a spare for use in the future should this one be lost, stolen borrowed or broken! Buy one, you will not regret it! Need I say any more?

I've wanted a BBQ that?s small enough to fit on my balcony but tough enough to handle more than one use. Then I found this and fell in love. As an Aussie living over here I haven't had the chance to BBQ as often as I would like, but that?s all changed now. The grill is surprisingly large and heats up in no time. Don?t think about it, just get one!

This BBQ is nothing but awesome. I was in urgent need of a new BBQ so decided to go to my local Argos... and was instantly disappointed first by the poor quality items on display, then by the fact they were all sold out. Once I got home, I fired up the laptop, and headed to IWOOT... and then I saw it. The Grilletto! One quick click, followed by a few more clicks, and some number typing, and another click, and it was mine.
It arrived the following morning, so I ran out the house to get some charcoal to burn food with, and then the clouds came. But it wasn?t going to stop me... not when I have a large tarp and plenty of poles/pegs/string. I set the grilletto away, and it was ready to use before I had the shelter up, just in time for the rain. Sat there, under the tarp, with the grill on the go, was pure bliss (although a bit smokey).
I really can't fault this BBQ in any way. Quick to light, easy to clean and thanks to the snuff sack easy to put out and move around. I will never get a normal BBQ again...

My god as a beach dwelling surfer I'm in love with this bbq & so are my salt-water seasoned chums. Quick, easy, makes the whole bbq experience great & no need for one of those cheating gas types ether. Real Barbecue, Real practical.

In short I am in love with it and thinking of getting another one for my camping trip.

Placed order on Wednesday and the BBQ arrived Thursday morning, great service. The BBQ itself lived up to all it promised. Fortunately there was a bit of sunshine outside, so I loaded the coals and set light eagerly. It was not long before the heat was spilling out the top. Then I slapped on some steak and sausages and was soon enjoying a hearty meal. Being a thursday it was not long before the rain came down. But it didn't bother me, as I just folded the BBQ away and put it in its pouch. Easy as that. I'm now looking forward to using it again at the weekend and when I go camping with the family.

I can't believe it actually works like it is supposed to. Can't fault it - I'll be using it over and above my 'proper' barbecue from now on.
