OK, first things first; these glasses are HUGE - each glass is 75cl in volume. To put that in perspective, that means that each one can hold a whole standard size bottle of wine... yeah they're big. The Kwarx® technology means four important things: 1) They feel a bit light and (dare I say it) slightly plastic-like 2) They're super thin and when you hold the glass up it looks like the wine is floating in a force-field 3) To make that quintessential 'ting' sound, you have to bang them together rather hard 4) They're not going to break if you accidentally hit them with something while washing up So, in short, if you like to insist on 'just one glass', shortly before yelling, "Cheers" at the top of your voice, whilst slamming your enormous wine glass together with your drinking buddies'; then these are a must buy. On the other hand if you're into sipping your favourite tipple urbanely from a crystal goblet then softly flicking the rim to make it chime; buy something else.
Royal Worcester glass is great quality and these are no exception; they shine and are a great shape, and if I knew much about the science of airing wine I would probably be able to justify them as being quite good in that respect too. They are also huge, being Bordeaux glasses, which helps with airing your red or with fueling your alcoholism. Lovely glasses.
