Half Day 'Round the World' Yacht Sailing Experience

The Half Day 'Round the World' Yacht Sailing Experience gives you the opportunity to sail across the Solent aboard a 60ft Round the World Ocean Race Yacht. Great for any level of experience, whether you're a novice sailor or experienced yachtsmen, this action packed half-day sailing trip is an experience that everyone will enjoy.

All the people on board will have the chance to try their hand at the different aspects of sailing, including steering and winching. Discover just what these formula one style boats can do, with the help of an experienced and friendly professional crew.

On the day of your sailing experience you'll meet and greet the crew just before 12pm, and enjoy a tea or coffee before you head to the pontoons and board Taeping, an amazing Round the World Ocean Race Yacht. The experienced crew will show you round the yacht and give a safety brief before you set sail. You'll get to enjoy a complimentary lunch as the powerful motor is used to get out of the idyllic river Hamble to the sailing waters of the River Solent.

Once you're on the river you can chip in by hoisting the sails and when the yacht starts to move with the wind power you'll get your first experience of sailing. This hands on experience will have you actively involved in sailing the yacht and will run for around 4 hours. - A.D.

Important Information:

Your voucher is valid for ten months. This package is for one person only. This experience is available on Fridays only from April - October. This experience is suitable for people over the age of 12. Anyone aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a full paying parent or guardian. To avoid disappointment please ensure you give at least four weeks' notice to secure summer dates as this is a seasonal experience. The skipper reserves the right to curtail the experience on safety grounds if the weather becomes severe. In the event that weather prevents the experience from taking place your date will be rescheduled. This experience is not suitable for those who suffer from seasickness. Participants should be able to move around the vessel, which includes climbing up a short ladder to move between decks. Participants should be aware that they will need to be able to sit on the deck of the yacht, which is like sitting on the floor. You are advised to wear non-marking, flat soled footwear such as trainers or deck shoes. All dates are subject to availability.
