This is a fine device, which works straight out of the box once the batteries (five) are added. The focusing wheel on the front is bit clumsy to use, but once one gets the hang of it the images and degree of interest/amusement are excellent. One can examine one's one body in vast and excruciating detail - the substances onder one's nails are a definite incentive to better hygiene. Highly recommended.

I gave one of these little beauties to my brother. He and his children are absolutely addicted to it.
My brother is a scientist and uses the finest electron microcopes known to mankind. In his veiw, the magnification and on screen image quality are the best he has ever encountered in such a small device. Plus, it costs less than the price of one of his glass slides.
