Sometimes you just fancy one glass of wine, but don't want to waste the rest of the bottle. The V Gauge is the wine stopper that puts an end to waste. What makes it stand out from other wine stoppers is that it has its own built-in pressure gauge. 'Why on earth do you need a gauge?' we hear you cry. Most wine stoppers work just fine, but they all have one fatal flaw - when the vacuum deteriorates oxygen seeps into the wine and before you know it your bottle of plonk has magically transformed into vinegar. The V Gauge is quite staggeringly simple to use (we bought a bottle of wine in the interest of "research" to test it out) - you just pop it in the top of the bottle, pump out the air with the vacuum pump (included) and watch the needle on the gauge swing into the red. Once it's there you can stop pumping knowing that the there's enough of a vacuum to keep your wine fresh for ages. The best part is that you'll be able to see when the vacuum needs to be topped up as the needle will start dropping out of the red. There's no greater sin than wasted wine so keep your vino fresh with the V Gauge.

V Good V Gauge Wine Preserver
I bought this for the father in law as he embibes a glass of the vino per day. (He reckons its for health reasons). The gadget did stick a little bit for a while but has now loosened up and works really well. It certainly holds the vacumn for a full day.

What a let down.....
I was expecting GREAT things from this. Must learn to manage my expectations better. It doesn't keep pressure for very long at all....so you have to keep an eye and keep pumping regularly Either that or just drink the whole bottle in the first place!

Seems good - test before giving as a gift though
Bought one of these for a wine-loving friend's birthday, and I have to say I was a bit worried at first because it didn't seem to work. Think the needle had got stuck a bit, possibly during transit. Just as I was apologising profusely and telling him I'd send it back, it finally managed to work loose. Now every time I'm round there I see it in the top of another bottle, so I'm thinking that's a good sign. Quite tempted to get one myself. I would recommend giving it a test run to check the gauge works (and to work it loose if not) before giving it as a gift.
